Bed Bugs Heat Treatment

How is the Heat Treatment done?

The Heat Treatment is achieved by slowly raising the temperature of the interior of the house. We use electric industrial strength heaters and industrial fans to raise the temperature of the property to 130 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. It typically takes around 7-8 hours to raise the temperature to the desired temperature; then we hold it for around 10-12 hours. It takes 113 degrees for 90 minutes to kill all adult Bed Bugs and 118 degrees for 20 minutes to extinguish all bed bug eggs. Bed Bugs instantly die at 122 degrees.

We electronically monitor the property off site via our remote monitoring system. Even our heaters have tip over sensors so if for any reason they get bumped or knocked over they immediately shut off. The heaters also are electronically limited to 135 degrees. Once they achieve this temperature, they will shut down until the room falls back into the desired temperature range and then maintain that temperature.

We also recommend a residual chemical spray to help ensure there is no immediate bed bug reintroduction.
